Black Pepper
Black pepper is considered the most consumed spice in the world and Sri Lankan pepper is specifically favored globally since it is rich in Piperine, an alkaloid present in black pepper. In addition to its usage in cooking and garnishing in cuisines, black pepper comes with lots of health benefits such as enabling weight loss, preventing cancer, stimulating digestion, relieving cold, addressing depression and improving skin.
Ceylon Cinnamon
Ceylon cinnamon claims 90% of the global cinnamon market share and Sri Lanka is the world's largest exporter and producer and of pure cinnamon with cinnamon being an indigenous tree in Sri Lanka. Cinnamon has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal properties and it contains antioxidants with anti-inflammatory effects. Further, it reduces blood pressure, blood sugar and risk of type 2 diabetes while improving gut health.
Cardamom
Cardamom is native to the Indian subcontinent and Indonesia. It is a spice made from the seeds of various plants that belong to the same family as ginger. The green cardamom is produced in Sri Lanka which contains a unique flavor. Other than as a culinary product, it is used to treat digestion problems including heartburn, intestinal gas, loss of appetite, constipation, common cold and sore throat.
Cloves
Ceylon cloves are richer in oil than those from other countries in the world. Sri Lanka provides for nearly 8.5% of the global demand for cloves overall including buds, whole fruits, and stems. It is mostly used as dried whole buds. Cloves are used to boost immunity, improve digestion, maintain respiratory health and relieve toothache. Clove oil is also used in the perfume industry and the pharmaceutical industry.
Turmeric
Turmeric, one of the key ingredients in many Asian dishes is a spice that comes from the root of the Curcuma longa plant, belonging to the ginger family. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties that benefit your health. Further, it helps to improve memory, prevent cancer, heart diseases and alzheimer's. The essential oil of turmeric is also used in perfumes, and its resin is used as a flavor and color component in food.
Ginger

Nutmeg & Mace
Myristica fragrans tree is the only tree that produces two separate spices i.e. nutmeg and mace. Fruit is referred to as nutmeg and the red covering of the fruit is called mace. Nutmeg is valued for its sweet aroma and it is used to treat insomnia and blood pressure. It is also used in improving digestion, brain health and relieving pain.
